  • Health fairs: Support by compiling and acquiring informational materials.
  • Patient education: Help develop consumer health information collections and patient education materials.
  • Patient support: Provide consumer health information at the medical library or at the bedside of patients per request.

Health misinformation, especially on the Internet, is becoming more prevalent every day. Learn how to find reliable and accurate health information online. This hands-on demonstration shows you how to search medical procedures, medications, terminology and other health information using the free online database MedlinePlus, a service of the National Institutes of Health and U.S. National Library of Medicine. Participants may bring a laptop or mobile device to follow along.

The Community Health Resource Section, staffed by a consumer health librarian, is dedicated to meeting the information needs of Greenwich Hospital patients, their families/caregivers, and the community at large.
